Furore

It's extremely interesting to observe the furore over the BNP's Nick Griffin's appearance on Question Time, when over 20% of Austria's parliament is made up of people who have the same ideas as him.

More Autumn Running

Crisp clear day, snow on the mountains, and was joined by other runners for the first time in a while. Still missing the bike though...

Lunchtime run in sleety snow

Feels way to early to be locking the bike away for winter, but when it snows, the temperature is down to 3° and it's too dark in the mornings there isn't much choice.

So I took my first run of the season yesterday out to Ellmautal during my lunchbreak. Beautiful as always, and the legs weren't too sore afterwards.

Schober

Finally knocked this one off. I've lived in Fuschl for over a year now and for whatever reasons, never got round to climbing the Schober, a 1329m high rocky peak that overlooks the village.

And it was spectacular. From the Wartenfals castle on the way up, to the hairyish last sections to the summit, this is a classic climb with fantastic views. Full route on www.everytrail.com.
